Special evening planned at Ram Restaurant

Students in the hospitality class at Greene County High School invite the community to “An Evening at Ram Restaurant” Saturday, Oct. 29.

Along with a three-course dinner that’s nothing like “school food,” diners will be the first to enjoy the new décor at the student-operated Ram Restaurant. The update was paid for with funds received from the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation.

Diners can select grilled Moo Meat New York strip au poivre, pan seared salmon or pork medallions, with side dishes, a choice of dessert and beverages.

The hospitality class exposes students to all aspects of the hospitality industry, teacher Donna Carhill said. “I wanted an ‘event’ that allows the students to use all their hospitality information in a real world situation. With the new look of the Ram Restaurant, this seemed like the perfect way to expose students to the industry as well as invite the public to see our new look,” she said.

Diners can select seating at 5, 6:30 or 8 pm. Reservations should be made by Oct. 27 by calling the school at 515-386-2188 and leaving a message. A hospitality student will return the call.

There is a $30 charge per person, with any proceeds going toward a field trip to visit the hospitality program at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.
